WORD.
Tuesday, July 21st, 2009
A few homegirls were flipping through US Magazine and spotted a recent piece.

Be aware, flipping through this nauseating magazine causes severe bullshit headaches. Of course, nothing can be more important on planet earth than dresses, perfume and people’s love lives.

Best of luck to JD and Janet Jackson.

KIDS.
Monday, July 20th, 2009
Tony came through to dedicate her back to her kids.

It’s always intense for any portrait for any situation, and the weight they carry for the people who get them. Tony’s daughter who she lost a few years after this photo, leans to her brother who is now 23 years old, full grown and ruthless. We used a rare photo she had of the two in their innocence.

ENEMIES.
Monday, July 20th, 2009
Had a chance to cut loose from the studio to take a quick look at Michael Mann’s Public Enemies. It seemed everybody hated this film, just like they hated the Miami Vice, and Collateral….
But I myself am a fan of the Mann. It’s not all just shooting and action, with Mann it’s always psychological. Check it out if you haven’t already. Above is one of his best, Heat a classic we play on a regular during sessions at the studio.

LIVE TODAY.
Saturday, July 18th, 2009
Tyler dropped in to begin his upper right sleeve.

This piece is in dedication to life itself, and being grateful of living each day. Tyler, like alot of clients, is a survivor. Having several experiences where the thought of tomorrow could end life today, he decided to encrypt it his body as a reminder. Still more to come with this piece.

EYE SEE.
Friday, July 17th, 2009
Luis came in to add in the back lower right sleeve.

This particular skull has been referenced before but we decided to give it a twist to fit the need of this part of the arm. Since in it’s casual position, this area in perspective to the viewer is most visible, we decided to keep an eye on things….

ECSTASY.
Wednesday, July 15th, 2009
Kathie came through to work the begining portion of her upper right thigh.

Kathie is a veteran herself with tattoos and in life. With the countless struggles she’s overcome, she decided to dedicate her leg to the powers above by using Bernini’s Ecstasy of St. Theresa as inspiration to represent the sacrifice. Much more to come.
