THE SET UP.
Thursday, July 30th, 2009
One of the best things about Art Center is the diversity that is has to offer. Check out this set design that is in the current gallery by Garvin Eddy.

Famous for his designs that you’ve seen in The Cosby Show, That 70’s show, Roseanne, and many other old T.V. shows that date back until the 70’s.

It’s crazy to see these things in person, because setting sets like this is similar to setting up a painting or even a tattoo.

Every object has its direct place and purpose from the movement of the main goal to engage the viewer so that they become apart of that world. It’s no surprise that designers like Eddy have the power to hypnotize the viewers of the countless episodes to these T.V shows.

Here’s a Cosby classic.

FACE TO FACE.
Tuesday, July 28th, 2009
Jon from SYNDICATED flew in to put some more work into his sleeve he started a short while back.

This piece was to represent his home town and the lifestyle he comes from.

But make no mistake, Jon is not a product of his environment, when struggles in life come face to face, he’s ready to dedicate his all until the last judgement. Above is a healed pic of the Moses we recently did.

And right next to Moses, we started the classic Virgin Mary, still more work to be done with Jon.

LA TREASURE.
Sunday, July 26th, 2009
I think one the greatest things about LA is the fact that we have the largest collection of art in California. If you’ve never made a pit stop at LACMA, you are missing some the greatest pieces in history, and some serious education in art itself. Here’s a brief glimpse of a portion of their collection, enjoy.

GUITAR HERO.
Saturday, July 25th, 2009
Josh came through to seal off this portrait of his pops we started not too long ago.

Josh’s father was always into music so we took his old guitar and applied it into the piece as a symbol for his journey on the stairway to heaven. Josh wanted to complete his first tattoo right before he takes off and moves out of California to Illinois where his family and new future awaits him. Well done Josh, safe travels.

DEEP SEA.
Friday, July 24th, 2009
Jarrod came through to seal off his right chest. This piece freehanded and influenced from the traditional asian movements of tattooing.

The chest plate can be a tough area, but Jarrod is as dedicated a client as he is a fisher. Watch out for more to come on his sleeves.
