I had the honor of Tattooing Tameka Cottle, at big TIP’s crib. Tameka had an old school piece on her back and we put together three roses representing her kids and the growth of two and blossoming on one, just in time for the VMA’s. I did a quick piece for Tameka and her King as a little thank you. Thanks Tameka and TIP.

Had to sit down and go back to my foundation. I heard the other day from a young up and coming artist, he said ” I don’t draw, I just tattoo.” I said “WHAT?!”— People seem to lose focus and tend to become blinded by the shit that really matters. The abilities of men and women like Cartoon, Jose Lopez, Kat Von D, Nikko, Bob Tyrell and many more who’s skills in tattooing originate from the very bottom. To my fellow young artist who arise from my generation, don’t get it twisted. My mentors who you see with all the money, bitches, ho’s and clothes, who have to keep a constant smile on their faces and who you see on T.V have bled and sweated for every ounce of victory-not to mention they grind while you sleep!. So I sat down and did a small sketch of the Estevan Oriol, since I drew out a sketch of Toons, I think it’s only right, and the more I focus on the abilities on paper do I realize how important it is in my abilities in tattooing. Big thanks to Estevan for inspiration and all the other role models of Art and Design. And to my peers….turn off MTV, stop smoking that shit, and get busy.
